Privacy Policy

Insta Grid Editor ("we," "our," "the site") is a free, browser-based tool for splitting photos into Instagram carousel and grid posts. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it — in plain language, because there isn't much to explain.

Your photos never leave your device

The editor has no upload step. When you add a photo, it's decoded and processed entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Cropping, slicing, and exporting all happen locally — the finished files are generated on your device and offered to you as a direct download. At no point is an image you're editing sent to us or to any third-party server.

What we store, and where

To let you leave and come back to a project, or work on more than one carousel at a time, the editor saves your work using two browser-native storage mechanisms — both local to your device:

• IndexedDB stores the original image files you've uploaded.
• localStorage stores your project settings (crop, grid lines, tile order, aspect ratio, and so on) as text.

Neither of these is ever transmitted to a server — they exist only in your browser, on your device. Clearing your browser's site data for this domain, or using "Start new project" in the editor, removes it. We have no way to access, back up, or recover it, because we never receive it in the first place.

Cookies

The site itself doesn't set any cookies. Google Analytics (see below) sets a small number of first-party cookies in your browser to distinguish visitors and sessions. These cookies are unrelated to your photos or project data, which are never sent anywhere.

Analytics and tracking

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic to the site — things like page views, approximate location (country or city level, derived from IP address), and general device or browser type. This tells us how many people visit and which pages they land on; it has no visibility into what you do inside the editor, since your photos, crops, and exports never leave your browser. You can read Google's privacy policy for details on how they handle this data, and use Google's own Analytics opt-out browser add-on if you'd rather not be counted.

Third-party services

Besides Google Analytics, the site also loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. Loading a font this way means your browser makes a direct request to Google's servers, which — like any web request — can see your IP address and basic request metadata. No image or project data is involved in either of these requests.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, of any age — see above for why.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
